BOB GAROFALO
After nearly forty years in the eighteenth and early nineteenth century
restoration business, I felt there was a need for quality, authentic
reproduction lighting with attention to antique finishes, aging techniques and
early American detailing. To fill this void I began handcrafting wall sconces
and chandeliers, both candle and electrified, that incorporate all these
features. My lighting is in many homes in New England and has been featured in
Early American Homes magazine.
All lighting is completely hand made by hand. No two sconces or chandeliers are
exactly alike. The chandelier hubs are made from new or antique turnings. Hub
finishes vary from old turnings with natural wood patina to an antique painted
look in historic colors. Sconces, as well, are made from both new and antique
tin. Finishes vary from antique to a very primitive rust finish.
Lighting has the appearance of a 200 year old device!
My work can be seen at the Pleasant View Gallery located at 295 Water St. in
Addison. The gallery is open by appointment or by chance, 483-4381.
