GERI VALENTINE

Geri Valentine has been spinning, dyeing and knitting Addison island wood for thirty years. Colorful custom knit vests and jackets are her specialty.  Her smaller items such as mittens, hats and leg warmers are available at Gray Wolf Gallery in Addison.

Her knit projects begin when Geri shears the sheep on Big Nash Island. The creamy white wool is washed and spun into a strong 2-ply knitting yarn on her treadle spinning wheel. Indigo and madder root are grown in the vegetable garden for blue and red dyes; wild goldenrod gives potent yellow and the combination of these and other dyes provide a complete palette for Geri's original designs. Handspun, hand-dyed yarn is available by appointment. 483-4679
