BOAT REGISTRATION

Boat registrations can be done on-line after the excise tax has been paid a the Town Office. For further information go to http://www.maine.gov/ifw/index.shtml and select watercraft. When you go to the Town Office to register a boat for the first time you will need to bring the title papers and sales tax papers if purchased from a dealer. If purchased from another individual, bring the bill of sale showing the year, make, horsepower, age, length of the boat and if use is commercial or pleasure.
Documented Boats: Watercraft over 5 net tons, used for commercial fishing must be documented. You are required to have a valid marine document as a watercraft of the United States.
