ADDISON DAYS

 Addison Days was the brain child of Jeanette Perry as a way to celebrate the Bicentennial in 1997.  Jeanette formed a committee of hard working citizens that shaped one of the best parties Addison has ever had. In the process they created a tradition that has held true through the years.

 Jeanette wasn’t sure how many floats were going to show up that morning 12 years ago but as she approached the intersection where the floats were to gather, she was stunned. There were 50 floats that stretched a mile down the road.

 After the success of the first Addison Days the Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary decided to take on the organization and planning of the big day. They have done a great job for 11 years but last year they passed the torch to a new committee headed by Chairman Dean McGray.  For information call Dean at 483-6177. 

July 10, 2010 Addison Days Events/ Rain date July 17

10 a.m. The vendors open for business on Pleasant St.                                            

10 a.m. The line up for the parade will form at the intersection of Wescogus Rd. and East Side Rd

        11 a.m. The parade will begin and make its way down Water St.ending at the intersection of West Side Road

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Art and Craft demonstrations at the Gray Wolf Gallery                                         

  10 a.m. to noon Car Show                                                                                                               

Noon- A traditional auction will take place and the drawings for the lobster raffle at the Tuscan Lodge.

1 p.m. The fire department auxiliary meat raffle will take place at town hall.                                     

2 p.m. Beano will begin at town hall.                                                                                               

The grand finale is the fireworks display at dusk.
